SUPPORTING GOALS HOUSE IN DAVOS
Braeburn joins the world’s largest meeting of global leaders
The annual meeting of the World Economic Forum, which took place from January 15th to 20th, in the Swiss town of Davos brought together political, economic and social leaders from all over the world. It was also a meeting point to discuss actions to improve the world and, in the case of the Goals House community of activists, to make progress towards the achievement of the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals.
Braeburn Whisky shares that challenge, and is partnering with Goals House, offering whisky tastings to attendees, as well as a special commemorative bottling distilled from a ‘secret’ cask from an Orkney distillery, matured for 13 years and distributed exclusively among those attending the event.
At Davos, Samuel Gordon, Managing Director of Braeburn Whisky USA, said: “We are delighted to be here supporting the important efforts of Goals House to encourage the implementation of the vital Sustainable Development Goals, which will be necessary to achieve a better future for us all. As a company, we strongly believe in the importance of sustainability and equity. I think our entry into the US market will only strengthen that mission”.
Braeburn Whisky also hosted a special tasting alongside Goals House with Bank of America, attended by the company’s CEO Brian Moynihan, alongside various VIPs from the world of politics and finance.
In addition, Braeburn Whisky also took advantage of the occasion to convey to the attendees the benefits of the whisky industry to the Scottish economy, and how investing in casks is an excellent way to provide sustainable value to investment portfolios.
